Gradboring!
This blog hasn't been updated in an embarrassing nine months. In those months, I changed jobs, completed work in EAD 801 and CEP 800, worked with the ANGEL Support Team on the ANGEL 7.2 upgrade, fought the fires caused by the ANGEL 7.2 upgrade, and began a new certificate program in Serious Games to complement my MA in Education.
So far, the research on gender and gaming is fascinating, and I find myself looking at video games with a far more critical eye than I did previously. An interesting blog post surfaced today, talking about how women now outnumber men in game console ownership. We own more consoles, yet it feels like we're still being largely untargeted, untapped, and underutilized. I, for one, refuse to play June Cleaver to the video game industry's Ward. Pour your own drinks, dear, the meatloaf is in the fridge, I'll be playing Halo III.
Console pwners!
